Software beyond the level of a single device (WordPress)

Previously, internet users have only PCs or Laptops to access a web application. These days, this behavior has decreased with the use of smart phones. Now people can access a number of the web applications using their smart phones. For example, Facebook, which give the user the chance to be synchronized with his/her account all the time with the ability to make updates.

In this blog I will take WordPress as an example. WordPress can be accessed from the web browser, or other desk top applications such as “Press This“. Also, it can be accessed from smart phones. WordPress.com provides applications for iOS devices, Android OS phones, Blackberry, Nokia, and recently Windows Phone 7.

Using WordPress applications, the user get the ability to:

Create new posts and editing: Creating and editing posts is one of the main function of the WordPress applications. The user can easily add photos, check spelling as well as adding links without writing any HTML code. Moreover, the user can choose in which category the new post will be.

Adding new posts

Upload photos: the user can easily upload unlimited number of photos and insirt them in the blog. The photos can be uploaded either high resolution or web optimized.

Adding photos

Edit pages: The user can also, add new pages, and edit old pages name. You can see “wordpress app” page on my blog. I just created this page while I am writing this blog using WordPrss App on my iPhone.

Manage comments: WordPress blogger can keep in touch with his/her readers by editing, or replying comments

comments management

These are the main four functions that the user can get. However, there are different features the user can get depends on the type of device that the application is installed in. for example, on the iOS, the user can share locations.

here is a video that explaining how the WordPress app works on the iPad

So, the question is Do you use WordPress Application on your Phone to check your blog? if not are you going to use it in future?
